PINK LAKE IN KAZAKHSTAN

2020-06-22, 13:40

Hi everyone! Today we’d like to talk about the pink lake of Kazakhstan, Kobeituz.

One of the newest discoveries of Kazakhstan (which is also very popular now) is The Pink lake Kobeituz. Only a couple of weeks ago, the media started reporting us of the new pink lake discovered in Northern Kazakhstan. People from all over the country started traveling to Nur-sultan in order to reach this lake. This is a very successful and fortunate discovery as the number of rose colored lakes in the whole world, doesn’t even reach 10.

Kobeituz is located near the town of Ereimentau, which is 160km away from Nur-sultan. To get from Nur-sultan to the lake it should take around 2-3 hours’ drive.  You can get there following Google Maps or any other navigation system.

“Kobei” means multiply and “Tuz” means salt, which gives you a hint on the main properties of this lake. This lake has a great amount of salt, which is healthy especially in the sun; it can give u a great boost in immunity and health overall. This fact also confirms that the lake is extremely clean as the large amount of salt purifies and disinfects the water. The lake obtains the pink color from the saline-water microalgae Dunaliella. The pink lakes in Australia, Canada and Spain also gain their color from Dunaliella.

Kobeituz is shallow and very salty, in some areas of the lake the amount of salt could be so large that it may feel like walking in the snow. You wouldn’t be able to swim in Kobeituz as the water reaches below your knees, so instead you can enjoy mud and salt baths while admiring the beauty of the properties, and of course the captivating color of the lake.
